Commission Powertools (Shopify app) · Effective October 30, 2026 · Privacy Policy

These terms apply to the Commission Powertools app for Shopify (the "app"), provided by Frank Higgins ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app, the Shopify store that installs it (the "merchant", "you") agrees to these terms. If you don't agree, don't install the app, or uninstall it.

1. What the app does

The app reads a store's point-of-sale sales from Shopify and, using the commission plans, quotas, spiffs, exclusions and pay schedule you set up, calculates commission for your staff. It shows staff their own figures on the register, keeps commission agreements your staff sign, and produces payroll exports. It does not pay anyone: you run payroll.

2. You stay responsible for pay

• The app is a calculation and record-keeping tool. You decide your commission plans and you are responsible for what you pay, for checking figures before you pay them, and for meeting the wage, commission and record-keeping laws that apply to you (including any rules on written commission agreements, final pay and deductions).
• The commission agreement the app produces is a template filled in from your settings. It is not legal advice. Have it reviewed for your state or country before you rely on it.
• Results depend on the data Shopify provides (for example, which staff member a sale was credited to) and on your settings. Check the Needs review list and statements before locking a pay period.

3. Your account and your staff

• Only the store owner, collaborators and the managers they choose can open the app in Shopify admin. You're responsible for who you give access to and for what they do in the app.
• You're responsible for telling your staff how their sales and commission information is used, and for handling their requests about it (we'll help; see the Privacy Policy).
• Don't use the app to break the law, to misrepresent what staff earned, or to interfere with the app or other stores (for example by probing, overloading or reverse-engineering it).

4. Pricing and billing

• The price is shown in the app and on the Shopify App Store listing: currently $29 per month for one location, plus $15 per month for each additional location that rings up sales.
• Each store gets one 14-day free trial. Charges are billed by Shopify on your Shopify invoice, under Shopify's billing terms.
• If your store uses more locations than your plan covers, the app asks you to update the plan. After 14 days without an update, changes and the register tile pause until you do; your records are kept.
• You can cancel any time by uninstalling the app. We don't give refunds for partial billing periods unless the law requires it.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, shown at the top of the app. Price changes apply from your next billing period after the notice.

5. Your data

Your store's data stays yours. We use it only to provide the app, as described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. When you uninstall, your data is deleted as the Privacy Policy describes. Export anything you need to keep (for example payroll exports and signed agreements) before you uninstall.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the app running and accurate, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Shopify may change or limit the data it provides to apps, which can affect what the app can do. We may improve or change features. If we stop offering the app, we'll give at least 30 days' notice at the top of the app so you can export your records.

7. Warranty disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

8. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, or for amounts you paid or failed to pay your staff. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the fees you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

9. Indemnity

You agree to cover claims brought against us by your staff or others that arise from your commission plans, your pay decisions, or your use of the app in breach of these terms or the law.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by uninstalling. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, don't pay, or use the app in a way that harms it or others. Sections 2, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 12 continue after these terms end.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for material changes we'll show a notice at the top of the app at least 30 days before they apply. Using the app after that means you accept the new terms.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Pinellas County, Florida, unless the law where you are says otherwise.
